Located on Hales Street, next to the Opera House. The Royal Electric Theatre was opened on 24th December 1910. It was a very basic cinema, which had all seating on a single level, on 19 rows of long wooden benches.
In 1927 it was taken over by a new operator. It was closed as a silent cinema in 1931.
In 1933 it was converted into an amusement arcade and was granted a licence to allow dancing. In 1934 it became a fireplace showroom. It was later demolished and furniture store was built on the site.
