The Corral Drive-In opened on June 26th, 1953 with Joel McCrea in “The Lone Hand”. It was closed in 1960.. The Corral Drive-In was located right next to the Chief Drive-In which sat just to the west side.
The Corral Drive-In was run by the Topeka Drive-In Theaters, Inc. which also ran the Community Drive-In, Cloverleaf Drive-In and Starlight Drive-In.

amazing that 2 competing drive ins were able to co-exist side by side in the 50’s & 60’s. Multiplexes don’t even do that today!

It’s called the 52 (!!!) screens of Ontario California. 30 screens at AMC Ontario Mills Dine In AND 22 screens at Edwards (Regal) Ontario Palace with IMAX and RPX. I’ve been to both and only a parking lot and a street separate them. Never have to worry about a sell out when a blockbuster plays on TWELVE TO FOURTEEN screens! Decisions…
