Gaumont Cirencester

Located in Cirencester, Gloucestershire at the corner of Victoria Road and London Road. The Picture House Theatre was opened by the Albany Ward Circuit/Provincial Cinematograph Theatres (PCT) in January 1924. The (PCT) chain were taken over by the Gaumont British Theatres chain in February 1929.

It retained the Picture House Theatre name until 1952 when it was re-named Gaumont. The Gaumont was closed by Circuits Management Association (Rank Organisation) on 1st December 1956.

The building was sold around 1962 or 1963 and demolished to build a block of flats was built on the site.

Albany Ward sold his circuit to PCT in 1920, so this cinema was built by the Albany Ward-PCT circuit.
