Located in Trinidad, in the Las Villas province, on Calle Antonio Maceo between Simon Bolivar and Zerquera. The Teatro Brunet opened in 1840 and became the center of Trinidad’s culture until March 1901. Famous Cuban artist Robreno and Mexican Juventino Rosas performed here. It has not been verified if it ever screened movies.
The building now lies in ruins.

The theater takes its name from Count Nicolás de la Cruz Brunet y Muñoz. It was bought by Don Justo Germán Cantero in 1849 for 17,000 pesos.
