Located on Sinclair Street at the corner of Fisheries Road in the Castletown suburb to the north of Esperance. The Esperance Drive-In opened on 26th December 1965 with John Wayne in “The Sea Chase”, and “West Bound”. The Esperance Drive-In closed on 1st March 1987 with “A Fine Mess” and “Labyrinth”. There is now a private house on the site(snack bar/bio box?), possibly surrounded by the ramps?

There is some information about Esperance Drive-in at the website http://members.westnet.com.au/dakota/esperance.htm .
The screen was 40 feet high and 70 feet wide!
The screen frame and snack bar(and bio box?) Is still there. The site is now a building supplies company.
I don’t believe the snack bar is still there, the foundation of it might be though.
Land bought by local consortium with Goldfields Pictures & Alan Larkin. Operated by Esperance Drive-ins Ply Ltd. Closed in early 1980’s. Reopened in 1985.
