Located on Office Road at the northeast corner of Patterson Road. The Melody Drive-in opened around April 1961. The drive-in closed on 18th October 1986 with “Return of the Living Dead” and “Fx Murder by Illusion”. The site is now mostly a factory(Superfert). The fences and gate and entrance(and exit?),and some of the ramps remain. The screen remained standing (on the Superfert factory site) until at least 2011, the back of the screen used as an advertising bilboard for cars going south on Patterson Road(possibly unique?). The site of the drive-in(before it was built) was a farm(in 1925) owned by Trevor Sloan.

The Melody Drive-in might have been run by the same people who ran the Melody Hall and Gardens nearby at Rockingham Beach?
I think the screen(minus the legs?) might have been placed on the side of the Superfert factory(Close to the corner on the side nearest to the Patterson Road, Office Road Side of the Building) as seen from the photo from the Office Road side of the building!?
