The Star Skating Rink(date of opening unknown?) was converted into the Tivoli Theatre(open air gardens) on 4th December 1909 using a Auxetophonoscope, an early attempt at synchronsing sound and image. This was not altogether successful. Films ceased in December 1913. The Tivoli Theatre mainly staged vaudeville, and a few films, before closing in 1915. The Tivoli Theatre (after being demolished?)then became a dance hall(name unknown?), and then a motor garage(name unknown?). The site is now the Cloisters car park(and Vintage Cellars?).

Not to be confused with the Tivoli in Stirling Street.
