Located in Launceston, Cornwall. The Launceston Picture Theatre was opened 9th December 1912. In June 1931 it was equipped with a British Thomson Houston(BTH) sound system. The last silent film to play was Lon Chaney in “West of Zanzibar” and the first talkie was Ralph Lynn in “Rookery Nook”.
The owners of the Launceston Picture Theatre built and opened their new Tower Cinema in August 1935, and closed the Picture Theatre with Wheeler & Wolsey in “Cockeyed Cavaliers”.
The building became a furniture auction room and during World War II was a British Resturant. It was demolished in 1964
