Forum Cinema

I remember with great affection the Forum Cinema with beautiful oblong proscenium mr Segers was the manager for manny years, the light fitting were still present until it failed as a Bingo hall and was spoiled by being turned into a night club. The proscenium was really a work of art. The projectors sound system ware western electric with the original sound on disk bases for the projectors. the projection room had a lower level and very awkward working space. Naughty Boy one evening when I was about 9 years old I left a side exit surreptitiously and discovered a metal cage out side the building with an amazing globe glowing purple in the dark. I was puzzled thank heavens I didn’t poke the globe with a stick. I wouldn’t be here if I had lol and the scene would go dark
