Located in Batley, West Yorkshire at the top of Well Lane. The Picture Palace was opened on 18th April 1912 with “Man in a Taxi”. It was designed by the architectural firm Messrs Hainsworth of Batley.
In November 1929 it was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system and “Broadway Melody” was the first ‘talkie’ in the re-named Plaza Cinema.
The Plaza Cinema was closed on 2nd February 1957, the same day as the Victoria Hall cinema closed.
