Weisenburg Theatres opened the 650-car Seymour Road Drive-In June 29, 1950 with Fredric March in “Christopher Columbus”. Charles Weisenburg’s other theaters were located in Amarillo, Arlington, Borger and Dallas. In 1952 it was enlarged to an 800-car capacity.
On February 1, 1953, the Daily Times reported that manager Stanley Easling had a comfortable five-room apartment inside the screen, which he shared with his family. The living space, 12’x60’, also had a 52’ high attic but the upside was that Mr. Easling’s daughters had a safe place to ride their bicycles and he had a very short commute.
While owned by Martin Theatres, the drive-in closed in 1978.

4500 Seymour Hwy, Wichita Falls, TX 76309 this address is right across from the address given of the drive-in next to this address which is KFDX TTV you can clearly see the ramps of what appears to be a twin screen drive-in. so is the above address wrong because i think that there were two drive-ins across the street from each other.
does not exist the twin drive-in across the street.
Billboard, Oct. 25, 1952: “S. H. Easling has been named manager of Seymour Drive-In Theater, Wichita Falls, Tex. … A new, hard-surfaced balcony has been added and the spot’s capacity has been increased to 800 cars.”
The Seymour Drive-In opened on June 29th, 1950. Grand opening ad posted.
Also opened with a cartoon “Frigid Hare”.
