The Heddon Greta Drive-in opened by Greater Union Theatres on 20th December 1967 with Sidney Poitier in “To Sir, With Love”. It was closed in 1984. The Heddon Greta Drive-In reopened on March 26, 1996 with “Babe” & Carmen Argenziano in “Apollo 11”. It was still operating in 2022 but had been sold with the new owners allowing the drive-in to operate until 2024.

The Heddon Greta Drive-in was operated by Greater Union and Hoyts,from the oppening until closure in 1984 and then from 1996 by Donna and Scott seddon.
The drive-in closed twice in the mid 1980’s to early 1990’s.
This drive-in is seen on the Australian tv series “Saturday night at the movies(also availabe on dvd).
This drive-in theatre has been sold(unknown to who?) and is expected to close in mid 2023!?
Reopened on 26th March 1996 with “Babe” and “Apollo 11” planned to be closed in Late July 2023. Site planned to used for a 44 housing estate. It might be reopened on a site nearby?
Correction reopened on 26th March with “Babe” and “Apollo 13”(not Apollo 11).
The developers have allowed the drive-in to stay open until 2024
