Located in Athlone, County Westmeath. The Adelphi Theatre and Cinema was opened in 1946. It originally had 900 seats. There was a 27ft wide proscenium and a 16ft deep state with 3 dressing rooms. It was equipped with a RCA sound system.
The Adelphi Cinema was closed in 1979. It became McFarlands Furniture Stores. In recent years it has been in use as Lynn Antiques auction room.

A nostalgia page on Facebook cites the dates active for the Adelphi were 1946-1979.
Built and opened 1946, the architect was Owen Doyle. Builders were M. Duffy & Son.
