Located in New Ross, County Wexford. The Ritz Cinema replaced the Savoy Cinema and opened in 1947 by the Breen Group. It was equipped with a RCA sound system. In later years it was operated by Amalgamated Entertainments and was closed on 31st March 1990 with a late-night screening of “Child’s Play”.

Last film I saw in The Ritz was Licence To Kill in August 1989.
However I am almost certain that the last film screened there was The Delinquents in either January or February 1990.
The last film to be shown in the Ritz was Child’s play in 1990.My father was the projectionist there.
Yes Drowearts, Ritz closed 31 March 1990 with Casualties of War in the evening with Child’s Play as the late film. Opened 1947 by the Breen group to replace the Savoy.
