Dallasmovietheaters, thank you so much for the photos you uploaded! This has been my holy grail theater! Where did you find them? I guess the auditorium was pre split.
I think the Outback does occupy the old theatre. Look at the aerial picture of the building from Colonial Drive-In page then look at the current Google satellite. Look at the side wall from street view. Definitely 1960’s block work.
874 seats at opening.
Right. I guess the land defines the shape of the building. Were you in Annapolis when this theater existed?
The movie theater was demolished, so there is no connection with the restaurant building. I remember seeing Return of the Jedi at the Plaza Theater and the long line of people waiting to get in went all the way around the building.
Parole is part of Annapolis. There is still a Parole shopping center, just no theater anymore.
Was it picture theatre for people who got out of prison, hence the word parole in the title?
Added some pics of the site today, an Outback Steakhouse. I don’t think it’s even the same building anymore but the shape looks the same.
Desperate for photos of this theater. I don’t even think the building is the same. They renovated it for the restaurants.
