The Bohm Theatre opened December 25, 1929. George Bohm’s earlier theatre of the same name had opened elsewhere in Albion, in 1915. The New Bohm Theatre had 1,100 seats and was located on S. Superior Street in downtown Albion.
The theatre has opened and closed a number of times over the decades. It was last operated by Albion College before closing once again in November 2008 when it was a three-screen movie theatre, with the balcony converted into two screens.
In September 2011 renovations began and it reopened as a single screen theatre again in October 2014. In 2016 a second screen name Bohm II with 38-seats was opened in an adjacent building.

Status should be changed to open. The website JBottero mentioned in his above posting is active and supplies info on what’s currently showing, as well as many other events.
The original Bohm Theatre was located at 108 West Porter. It opened in 1915 and was closed a year later when George Bohm acquired the Censor Theatre. Some time before constructing the second Bohm he also acquired the Albion
If my memory serves me right I remember the theatre reopening in 1995 and was remodeled with the upper balcony being walled off and spilt into two additional screens. I remember this because I watched the movie Toy Story in the main auditorum and how it still had the piano below what was once the stage. The second movie I saw that year was the Brady Bunch movie and watched that that on one of the upper balcony screens and remember that this was a very small auditorium and wished they had showed this on the main screen.
The FAQs section of the Bohm Theatre’s web site attributes the design of the house to architect Christian W. Brandt. Brandt had been preparing plans for a thousand-seat house in Albion since as early as 1925, when the November 29 issue of Moving Picture World mentioned the project.
