The Starline Drive-In opened in 1965 and was located in the suburb of Caddens. The drive-in was brought by Consolidated Drive-In Theatres Property Ltd. in November 1970 and they renamed it Penrith Skyline Drive-In. The drive-in was taken over Hoyts Theatres in March 1979, and taken over by Greater Union in July 1982. The Drive-in closed in August 1984. For many years it was in use by Trash and Treasure as a Sunday Market. It then became overgrown and rundown. In 2020 a small shopping centre named Caddens Corner Shopping Centre was built on the site.

The concession building in the middle of the field was there until 2002.
It will now be a shopping complex

The site has been demolished and construction is almost complete
Seems a little bit out of tne way for a shopping centre i think!?
It won’t be a large one. It will serve the newly built houses across the road.
A small shopping complex has now opened on the site of the drive-in
The shopping centre is called Caddens Corner Shopping Centre. Why the name Caddens Corner?
Is there anything left of the drive-in on that site now?
It’s located in the suburb Caddens, named after Thomas John Fuller Cadden. The shopping centre is on a corner, so I assume that’s where the name is derived. Nothing appears to be left.
