Jamison & Jamison built the Colonial Theatre in 1915 for just $15,000 opening in 1916 with both vaudeville and motion pictures. New operators move to motion pictures only. The silent era theatre remains silent until closing in 1929. The Peal Circuit of Cincinnati takes on the theatre with plans to operate a talking picture theatre in 1929 but appears to have scuttled that plan. Within a year the Colonial Theatre is dismantled and converted to the long-running R.S. Sanderson Hardware Store which opens there on April 11, 1930.
