In the city centre of Reggio Emilia, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, the Cinema Radium opened in 1909. One report says there were “two huge pillars” in the middle of the auditorium - possibly supports for a balcony.
At one time it was owned by Adalberto Bianchi, proprietor of four of the town’s other cinemas, Al Corso, Alexander, D'Alberto and Ambra.
It is not known when the Cinema Radium closed. By September 2016 the building was occupied by retail units. In a nice touch, the cinema’s name is still proudly displayed on the frontage.
