Is it the only drive-in theatre(or picture theatre) in the World, to be in two different countries at the same time?
The building is called Haskell Free Library and Opera House(it has it’s own page on Wikipedia). The canada side of the building is in the town of Rock Island.
davidcoppock- The town in Vermont which you mention is Derby Line VT. It straddles the border with Quebec, on the north side of which is Stanstead. But it looks like one town from overhead. The public library is in an old 1904 building which also contains a small theater, the Haskell Opera House. Supposedly, the stage is on the north side of the border while the auditorium is on the south side.
Is this the only french language drive-in in the World?
This place is similar to a public library in Vermont(the entrance is in Canada), seen on an episode of “How the states got their shapes. I forget the name of the town on the Vermont/Canada border.
The Gulf Station sits only on a small part of the drive-in, you can still clearly see the outline, ramps, and foundation to the projection booth and concession stand. http://tinyurl.com/z2j4xpn
