Correction: Opened December 1995. Replaced the State Twin which continued to operate with an arthouse policy until 1998. Developed by Dick Smith’s Movieland Group from Christchurch and operated in a joint venture with Hawkes Bay Cinemas (owners of Village 4 Hastings which opened August 1994) and whose principal shareholders were: Village/Force, Joe Moodabe & Graeme Edwards-Kroot.
