Eastmont Twin Theatres I & II

Montgomery Mayor Jim Robinson cut the ceremonial film ribbon June 3, 1976 launching the $600,000 twin-screen Eastmont Twin Theatres I & II for ABC Theatres Circuit. “Hawmps” played on Screen II with “Ode to Billy Joe” on Screen I. The theatre became part of the Martin Theatres Circuit before Carmike Theatre Circuit became the final operator. They were successful in being granted a licence to serve alcoholic drinks and it opened as Flicks ‘n Foam on October 3, 1986. It was closed in July 1987 due to concern over the sale of alcohol.
