Located in Tullamore, County Offaly. The Grand Central Cinema opened on 10th September 1924 and was designed by T.F. McNamara. It was built partly on the site of an old meat market. The plaque on the gable-fronted building states ‘Irish National Foresters 1923’. It had a 21ft deep stage and two dressing rooms. Around 1930 it was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. It closed as a cinema in the early-1980’s and is currently home to Fergie’s Bar and Lounge.
