The Pines Drive-In was opened October 8, 1954 with Marilyn Monroe in “How to Marry a Millionaire”. It was operated by R.S. Starling. The drive-in had a curved screen for CinemaScope presentations. It also featured an air-conditioned auditorium/indoor viewing area along with its spacious outdoor parking area.
It became the Kings Drive-In on August 14, 1957 with Ava Gardner in “The Little Hut”. When major road construction occurred in 1967, the Kings Drive-In was shut down for good.

So, according to the ad shown for this theater the drive-in was located NE of Pineville on the Monroe Highway. I think this address is the King’s (Pines) Drive-In: 3200 Monroe Hwy, Pineville, LA 71360 (Google Earth). These coordinates work well for Historic Aerials: 31°21'35.79"N 92°24'50.71"W (year 1955). This is the current location of Lowe’s Home Improvement. The previous address listed on Metro Drive in Alexandria, LA does not seem to show any signs of a drive-in, even on Historic Aerials.
Opened with “How to Marry A Millionaire” starring Marilyn Monroe.
