Opened on October 15, 1914 as the American Theatre, renamed the McCutchen Theatre on July 20, 1948, and closed on May 8, 1977. It later became a church after a nearby church was destroyed by a fire two weeks after the McCutchen Theatre closed as a movie house.

The American Theatre was open as early as 1926.

This was the American Theatre, which opened in the late 1920’s.

What is going o with the McCutchen now. I went over there several years ago and was interested in buying. Someone told me the roof had completely fell in. I just left. I bought a theater that had severe roof problems and didnt want to go throught that again.

Love those Lobby Cards,Real Theatre business in those days. Nice picture 1977.Lousy movie.
