Gray's Cinema

Located in the west of Dundee. The West End Cinema was opened 28th November 1912. In 1917 it was taken over by D. Shand and re-named Shand’s Picture House. In 1934 it was taken over by C.R.W. Gray and was re-named Gray’s Picture House. It was listed with 900-seats and was equipped with a Film Industries sound system. The proscenium was 27ft wide. By 1944 it had been re-named Gray’s Cinema. It was closed in March 1958 and lay derelict for several years before it was demolished.
