Located on Exeter Road, adjacent to the Glenorchy United Reform Church. The Kings Picture Theatre was opened prior to 1917. It had a 28ft wide proscenium. By 1923 it was operated by the Olden Brothers. Around 1930 it was equipped with a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system and was re-named Grand Cinema by 1937. By 1944 it was operated by Mayfair Circuit (Control) Ltd. By 1966 it was operated by the Miles Byrne circuit.

In 1969 it was taken over by Charles Scott and re-named Royal Cinema. It was still open in 1976, but had closed by 1980 and was demolished to build shops & flats on the site.
