Located in the Usera district to the south of the city centre. The Cine Lux was opened on 16th January 1962 with “Londres llama a Polo Norte” and “Una rubia para un gangster”. Designed in a Meoderne style by architect Sebastian Llanos Pulido, seating was provided in orchestra & balcony levels. There was also a dance hall attached.
The Cine Lux had a short life, closing in 1965 to be taken over by the Jehovah Witness as a Kingdom Hall. They moved out of the building and it became a bingo club for many years. When that closed the former cinema became home to Centro Dramatico Nacional. The dance hall became Club Imperante which in recent years has become a Hiper Husera supermarket.
