Campus Theatre

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Steele opened the Campus Theatre on December 7, 1968 with a special kids screening of “Flipper” and a regular opening of “Born to Buck” shot in South Dakota.

The couple would then open the Cine Theatre two blocks away in 1971. The Campus Theatre installed Dolby audio in 1978. But with the Northern Hills Cinema four-plex opening, both the Campus and Cine were doomed. The Campus Theatre closed March 11, 1980 with “Fiddler on the Roof”. The Cine Theatre closed March 22, 1980.
