Located on what at the time was Madras Place (#36) near the old Blaquire Bridge. The Phibsboro Picture House was opened in May 1914. It was designed by architect Aubrey V. O'Rourke in a Neo-Classical style.

In 1948 it was taken over by Odeon (Ireland) Ltd. and re-named Phibsboro Cinema. It was closed on 25th January 1953 with Van Heflin in “Battle of Powder River” (Tomahawk) & Ann Blyth in “Katie Did It”. It was demolished and Odeon (Ireland) Ltd. built their new State Cinema on the site in 1954.
