The approximate address for this theater was 5881 US-220 BUS, Bedford, PA 15522. The drive in closed sometime in the mid 60’s. As the highway expanded, ramps disappeared. No trace left. The lot itself was located south of 56 and west of 220 (now Business 220).
Please update.
I remember reading that this drive in theatre was moved from a closeby location, but I do not know the specifics. I believe it was moved because of construction on the Lincoln Highway, or the Turnpike… The Moonlite was rebuilt and moved at some point and was operating as of 1994 when I stopped to take photos in the wintertime. I am not sure exactly how long it was open after that.
The drive-in was still intact in a 1966 aerial, but I do not know if it was still open.
By 1969, the highway construction had reached the property, although the projection booth, screen, fencing, and most of the ramps were still intact.
By 1981, it was completely gone.
