The Jerry Lewis Twin Cinema launched with “Love Story” and “The Cowboys” on August 4, 1972 on a 20-year lease. The full-automated theatre had a ribbon cutting with Longview Mayor Bobby Smith in attendance. Two identical 300-seat theatres.
Trouble came early in the Jerry Lewis chain and the theatre became known simply as Cinema I & II by 1973. It was known for a period as Spur 63 Cinema and spent the majority of its operation as the Cinema Center 2 under Martin Theatres. In 1985, Carmike downgraded the facility to a sub-run 99 cent discount house. It closed June 28, 1992 at the end of its 20-year lease.
