The diminutive Aladdin Theatre opened December 22, 1930 with 252 seats and the film, “Rain or Shine” starring Joe Cook. In April of 1934, the independent theatre was purchased by the East Texas Theatre Circuit. The short-lived theatre went up in flames December 14, 1937 in the early morning destroying several neighboring businesses. Its last film was “Love is News” starring Tyrone Power.
