This one opened on April 15, 1953. Location given in the ad is Crater Lake Highway and Biddle Road.
Opened with “Army bound”. Opening night admission was free.
A more accurate address for this theater would be 2339 Biddle Rd. Medford OR 97504. This points to the Witham restaurant which is where the drive in was located. Interstate 5 took out about a third of this theater. The address above is further northeast.
Please update.
Boxoffice, May 2, 1953: “MEDFORD, ORE. – The Rogue Drive-In has been opened here by Robert Corbin, manager of the Oregon-California Theatres here. The new 600-car drive-in, accommodating some 70 less cars than the company’s Starlite Drive-In here, can be expanded to greater capacity if needed.”
