The Medford Cinemas opened in 1980 and was briefly closed on October 9, 1986 due to the theater not receiving any success against other theaters in Medford. It was reopened shortly afterward, and was taken over by Cinemark on December 17, 1987.
The Cinema 4 closed ten years later on December 11, 1997, exactly a week before the opening of the nearby Tinseltown.
