Located in Kimaine, County Mayo. The Marian Cinema was part of a small empire of cinemas run by Joe Gilmore and opened around 1960 in the village of Kilmaine just outside Ballinrobe. It must have been a successful operation as he set up other small cinemas in Achill, Ballaghaderreen and Milltown, and also started showing weekly films in the Town Hall in Swinford in 1974 after the Lyric Cinema closed.
The Marian Cinema was still screening films in 1977 but it was gutted by fire in June 1983. None of these ventures made it into the Kine Year Books.
