Strand Theatre

Located in Carrick-on-Sur, County Tipperary. The Strand Theatre opened on 24th November 1974 and was owned by Christy and Michael Butler. In addition to staging plays it also screened films as part of the fare. It underwent a €1.6 million revamp in 2007 including the addition of an extension during which the only event appears to have been the Christmas pantomime. It was reopened for concerts in early-2008 but the official reopening was on 29th August 2008. It is home to the Carrick Musical Society but since the revamp it has concentrated on theatre and hasn’t screened films. The auditorium has 360 seats.
