Pillar Picture House

This small city centre cinema was a conversion of offices by Aubrey Vincent O’Rourke and opened on 2nd December 1914. It was situated on the ground floor, where the entrance had an arched appearance with a domed canopy, and consisted of stalls and a cantilevered gallery. It closed on 25th March 1945 with Conrad Veidt in “Under the Red Robe”. The ground floor was recently occupied by a fast food restaurant.
