This silent cinema was situated in what looked more like a church than a Town Hall and screened films beginning in 18th July 1913 courtesy of George Humphries. Politics closed the cinema but it reopened under new management on St Patrick’s Day 1916. The cinema closed for good around 1925 and low-and-behold the Hall opened as St. Anthony’s Church in 1927. The church moved into a new building directly behind the old one in 1975 and the current use of the old one is unclear.

Looks like a series of reopenings with Mr O’Connell running the show from 23 December 1920.
