Levette Dufour opened the Joy Theatre in 1946 in downtown Moreauville following the end of World War II. The theatre was a center of activity for the town housing Pastimes Bar and the neighboring ice cream store and cafe. On November 13, 1957, a fire at the cafe took down all four businesses. The Joy Theatre was not rebuilt. A diminutive U.S. Post Office is the only building on the Joy’s lot as of the 21st Century.
