Located to the north of the Paris Opera in the centre of the city. The Mogador Palace was opened on 21st April 1919 and was designed by noted British theatre/cinema architect Bertie Crewe. The inauguration was carried out by US President to be, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Seating is provided in orchestra, dress circle and balcony levels. Initially it was a music hall, but in 1920 it became a cine/variety theatre. Following this use it presented mainly ballet and opera productions.
It was renovated in 1983. On 26th September 2016 a fire damaged parts of the theatre which was preparing for the opening of the French version of the musical “Phantom of the Opera” which was cancelled. For many years the Theatre Mogador has been home to many musical productions. “Grease - The Musical” has been running for over a year since opening on 28th September 2017.
