Movies @ Dundrum

This, the first of three Movies @ multiplexes, opened on 30th September 2005; it was part of phase 1 of the new Dundrum Town Centre development in Dundrum, County Dublin. From the opening date, there was seating across the 12 screens for 2,200.

Movies @ Dundrum was a 50/50 joint venture by the Spurling and O’Gorman families, both of whom had been separately involved in the cinema business for a number of years. Their second joint venture, Movies @ Swords, opened in 2006.

On 13 January 2018 it was announced that the Spurlings had taken sole control of the Dundrum and Swords cinemas, having bought out their partners the O’Gormans.

The third cinema in the chain, Movies @ Gorey, has since opening in 2009, been solely owned by Spurling Group Cinemas.
