Located inside the enclosed Summit Mall on W. Market Street, Fairlawn, northwest of Akron, OH. The single-screen Summit Mall Theatre was opened on October 27, 1965 with Tony Curtis in “The Great Race”. I went there several times. The mall had three major department stores and is still in existence. The theatre was operated by Stanley Warner. When newer shopping facilities were developed further west in Montrose, a multiplex theatre was built there and the Summit Mall Theatre was closed as a twin in July 1989.
