The Dixie Theatre was opened in 1927, a possible replacement for the Star Theatre which had been destroyed by fire in October 1926. It was listed as (Closed) in 1932-1935. By 1936 it had reopened as the Strand Theatre, but was destroyed by a fire in December 1936.
A new Strand Theatre was built on the site, opening In March 1937 (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).

Mr. Lavine offered the Dixie for sale in 1929. I believe he opened it in 1927 as a replacement for his Star which burnt down in 1926. See photo section mentioning the New Dixie and it’s subsequent sale.
