The original cinemas were built for Dick Smith’s Movieland Group [Invercargill, Rotorua, Porirua, Napier & Hastings] and they sold to Reading Cinemas. The complex closed for mall alterations and reopened with 4 screens operated by the Downtown Group from Palmy with 2 new screens and a new entrance beside the foodcourt.
