Opened by Epic Theatres on April 24, 2009. The Clermont 16 was designed by architectural firm TK Architects. When the Covid-19 pandemic struck in early-2020, all movie theatres were ordered to close. The Clemont 16 decided to keep open by painting white paint on the left hand sidewall of the movie theatre and built a projection shed on the parking lot. This worked very well as the slope of the parking lot tilted towards the lake down the hill. The ‘Drive-In’ was closed on June 13, 2021.
They tried to do the same at the Epic 12 in Mount Dora, FL, but it was not as successful as the parking lot there was flat and the painted ‘screen’ was on the front of the building.
