The #1 Drive-In was opened on April 4, 1951 with Brian Donlevy in “Impact”. It was operated by the Bernstein Theaters chain. The #1 Auto Theatre was located on U.S. Highway 1 South and allowed patrons to walk in or drive-in. The theatre was just five minutes from downtown Daytona and appears to have gone out of business in 1976. It was demolished for other retail purposes.

Just to avoid confusions that #1 was named after U.S. Highway 1.
