The Lake George Drive-In launched on July 18, 1946 with Gary Cooper in “North West Mounted Police” and Eddie Bracken in “Hold That Blonde”. The theatre also hosted Sunday church services. But the theatre faced competition from larger drive-ins and was closed in June 1953. It was demolished in favor of a motel.

Boxoffice, June 6, 1953: “Jules Perlmutter is reported to have closed temporarily the Lake George Drive-In because patronage fell below a profit margin. Perlmutter opened the Lake George about two weeks after the nearby Fort George was relighted.”
