The Dundale Drive-In opened in 1961, located on Route 72, near Route 25. The single screen drive-in was operated by the Chicago-based M & R Theatres chain during the 1970’s. The Dundale Drive-In closed in June 1984.
It later was used as a used car lot, after everything but its marquee was demolished. As of a few years ago, the site has been completely replaced by industrial buildings.

I miss the old Dundale Drive-in. The best part was the playground before the movie. The little merry-go-round was the best.
Approx. address for this drive-in was 1101 Higgins Road. Rock Road Dr. was the entrance.
The Dundale Drive-In was leased by Plitt Theatres for one or two seasons in the early 80’s. Plitt was the last operator of the location.
My first job during high school was at the snack bar. Would take home the leftover popcorn home in a plastic bag for the family.
