Located in the Bad Cannstadt district to the northeast of the city centre. The Bad Lichtspiele was opened on 19th June 1936. It was operated by Eugen Mertz EM Filmtheaterbetriebe OHG. During World War II in 1944, the cinema was badly damaged by Allied bombs. It was re-opened in 1945.
In 1950 the cinema was fully repaired and modernized. It had a gold coloured screen curtain and the auditorium colours were white, red & gold. The seats were by Kamphoener. The E VII B projectors were by Ernemann, which were replaced by Phillips FP 6 projectors in 1956 and CinemaScope was added.
The Bad Lichtspiele was closed after 1971.
